IMA International Competition 2017 organized by Intelligent Education Group was successfully held at Persada Johor Convention Centre Johor on 23rd December 2017. The ultimate objective of this competition is to promote and provoke children’s interests in studying of abacus mastering and mental arithmetic. In addition, to let the students feel the satisfaction of learning IMA in a healthy competitive ambience. Besides, it is to affirm children’s exceptional competency of Abacus and Mental-Arithmetic.
The categories are divided into six groups according to the student’s age. The category starts with Group A (below 6 years old) and follows by Group B (7 to 9 years old). The students of these two groups belong to Abacus Computing group because they are in Basic and Elementary A levels. It means that they are allowed to use abacus during the competition.
On the contrary, Group C, D, E and F belong to Mental-Arithmetic Computing category because these students are in the range of Elementary B to Advanced level. The Group C consists of students below 7 years old; Group D is for students who are 8 to 10 years old. The other students who are 11 to 15 years old are in Group E (Malaysian) and Group F (overseas).
Basically, the duration of the competition is 8 minutes. The winner will be the one who answers the most questions correctly. There are Top 30 Awards for each category and all the top 3 winners will be awarded cash prizes of RM3000, RM2000 and RM1000 with a large trophy.
In order to show our appreciation to IMA principals and teachers for their efforts, the Best Performance Centre and Best Instructor Award are given away on the competition day.
