The highlight IMA’s abacus competition event of every two years was back again! IMA International Competition grabbed overseas attention again with more participation in 2017. It seemed more surprises and preparations made by overseas teams to conquer the titles. All the IMA members were welcomed especially the overseas teams as they came miles away to take part in this grand event.
It was the first time for our overseas franchisees and participants from Central Asia countries such as Kazakhstan, Russia and Kyrgyzstan and Middle East countries including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and United Arab Emirates. Followed by Egypt, Iran, Philippines and Palestine teams were more passionate and energetic than previous competition as this was their second or third participation.
In fact, more students from these groups participated compared to last two years.
It was indeed an impressive performance by all the IMA students! They did their best in order to achieve the highest honour in the competition 2017.
Thus, we could see a lot of improvement from local and overseas teams. All the participants prepared themselves very well for the competition and they received massive support from their parents and teachers.
Besides, all IMA members from Peninsular until East Malaysia congregated at Persada Johor Convention Centre to take part in this international competition.
IMA international competition is not only a platform to let the students compete with each other and show their skills but also a place to unite all the IMA members and to promote abacus and mental arithmetic to the public.
The competition is the time of the year that we can all get together and have the opportunity to celebrate success.
No matter IMA’s families are from different countries, races, religions and cultures, we have the same spirit of faith—Integrity!
