The centre is equipped with adequate facilities such test beds, instrumentation, computer and ancillary equipments to undertake projects related to automotive component development and systems. It other role is to foster collaboration with industries and research establishments for the advancement in automotive technology in the contact of Malaysia’s automotive vision and policy. Its focus areas are primarily in i) powertrain engineering, ii) Green fuel for automotive propulsion and iii) HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning). Apart from these core activities, ADC has also collaborated with industries in the following areas of R&D&C:

1.Integrated system design and simulation
2.Structure and materials
3.Laboratory validation of engine components performance and reliability
4.Noise, vibration and harshness
5.Combustion simulation and engine modelling

Currently it has a staff of 8 people comprising of a director, four researchers, one engineer and two assistant engineers. With a series of on-going projects it has a postgraduate population of 12 students, at MEng and PhD.
